![]() ![]() I know that here are also great enthusiats that feel so cool because they use an even more expensive steering wheel like a logitech. All need for speed games do not support the L923 - maybe with some tweaking. But look how it works in Grid 2019, Dirt 5 or with some tweaks in Dirt Rally 2.0. L923 was not working on the previous WRC title as far as I remember. No native support means that we have to ourselves in the ini files. Originally posted by mrorange:With native support I meant that I can simply chose in the menu as controller and it allows me to edit keys, pedals, allows calibration etc and even force feedback calibration. Because: not all wheels have all the necessary buttons for menu-navigation! Oh: this includes proper mouse&keyboard support in menus, as well. And also: Those who share your enjoyment of that particular model of wheel can still decide to mover around function-buttons as they like it, individually, of course!) (so that not only a G923 works as advertised but also the next wheel from Logitech, TM, Fanatec, simucube, accuforce or whoever is still making and selling wheels tomorrow can take full advantage of this program. Just because gaming-consoles established these walled-garden eco-systems that we get aggressively advertised, today does not mean we should WORSHIP their existence and LOVE this hand that we have sadly been dealt in the recent years by many developers.īring back proper PC-versions of games - and especially: driving and flying-sim-games! It is sad to see that gamers these days willingly accept questionable "canned" device-support instead of an open design that gives them more control over how they interface with the game/sim. What we should require for any PC-version of any driving-sim-game is to enable us to re-map any wheel's buttons and axxis as well as to actually support multiple combinations of turn-key plastic wheels with their packaged pedals and accessories as well as whatever hotch-potch of (OS-supported) wheels, pedals, shifters, rumble-inducers (.) we happen to run today or actually: tomorrow. BUT just baking-in "support" for specific wheels as in "the flavour of the day" is not a development goal that I regard as the be-all, end-all. Yes, the G923 should be properly-supported as in: the game should take maximum advantage of it's electronic as well as mechanical capabilities. Because the way I read that is "throw-away steering-wheel support" with the emphasis on " throw-away support ".
